      Description

Reoriented the camera about 90 degrees to see the entire length of comet C/2023 E1 (ATLAS) would be visible. (The image is cropped somewhat -awful since I misjudged the position of the comet in the FOV during the imaging session).  Frame height is measured at 1d 44m, so you be the judge on comet length, certainly extending beyond the FOV.

One of the happenstance of this evening's shoot  was the close proximity of the comet's coma to the close double star 51 Dra.  Both stars hover around 6th magnitude and both are a spectral class of type F stars lying 19" from each other.  This image doesn't resolve the star pair however the diffraction spikes from the HyperStar setup clearly are separated.

The comet is closing in on our August 18th rendezvous.
